Our Academy paid their respects to Sir Robert Gillies, the last surviving Māori Battalion veteran, who recently passed away. In a heartfelt visit, the academy honored his legacy, Shane Jones spoke for A Company. Our Boys beautifully sang the Italian waiata, Buono Notte, before a spine-chilling haka. acknowledging his immense contribution to Aotearoa and the enduring values of courage, service, and whanaungatanga he upheld. The farewell was a moment to reflect on his extraordinary life and express gratitude for his sacrifices, ensuring that his legacy lives on in the hearts of future generations.
